“Style doesn’t have to be hard”

Buttonmefancy’s mission: To provide women with tips and the know-how to create an easy style that they love.

About me

My name is Zeenat. I’m a women’s clothing designer, a personal stylist and a style blogger.

As a designer, my mantra is simple elegance. I design easy to wear, classic women’s clothing that fits into any wardrobe and compliments any personal style.

As a personal stylist, I aim to help you find a style that you love, boost your confidence and empower you to live the life you want without breaking the bank.

As a style blogger, I share practical, quick and easy everyday style and makeup tips that help busy women make the most of their wardrobes.

My style philosophy – simple elegance, great quality and versatility.

I love being able to get ready quickly in the morning so I have more time to enjoy family, friends and doing what I love. And the good news is…I can still look stylishly put together in a few minutes.

I believe in small wardrobes that consist of key quality items. Items I adore, compliment my lifestyle and can be reinvented with accessories. Gosh I love accessories!

“You don’t have to be perfect to the world. Just be you.”

My journey

I’m a Chartered Accountant by profession who spent many hours altering my clothing and scribbling designs on class notes instead of studying for exams *giggle* Although I love numbers, my dad being an airbrush artist and mum being really good at painting, I’ve always had a creative side.

I had “only child” syndrome for 11 years until my brother came along. I kept myself busy from the age of 4 with my prized possession, my little sewing machine, and a bag of scrap fabric. I wanted to be many things, as children do, but the one thing that always stuck with me was the love for clothing and designing. I spent my teenage years designing clothing for family members and myself for special occasions and watching endless hours of Fashion TV.

A few years on, although I focused mainly on being an accountant and specialising in Tax, I have finally answered the little creative voice inside and took my first step into the world of fashion with my blog.

Buttonmefancy was born on the 25 June 2014, late on a week night after packing laundry. Her name popped into my head as I folded the last item of clothing and the rest is history! I must have seen lots of buttons *giggle*…

My inspiration comes from my passion for fashion design and styling and wanting to help women feel their best. I knew those many hours in front of the TV watching Fashion Week, Style Star, How do I Look, America’s Next Top Model and my favorite among many others, Project Runway would come in handy! Like seriously…many hours!

My clothing line, Ma’Ashuma is my second step into the fashion world. It’s named after my mom, who sadly passed away from cancer when I was 13 years old. Yes, it’s her in the picture, she was in her 20’s when the photo was taken! She is an inspiration to me and I’m hoping to incorporate the love I have for her into my designs.

My line is for all women…our everyday hero’s! Whether we’re on our own chasing our dreams or raising kids and managing a home, or both, there should always be time to take care of ourselves.

Our reality, as women, is to find simple, quick and easy ways to keep sane and still feel good about ourselves. That’s our journey together! Here’s to always staying stylish regardless of life’s struggles, because hero’s need some love too, even if it’s only a few minutes everyday…

When I’m not being creative, you’ll find me spending time with my husband on the couch, camping (things we do for love…although I think I secretly enjoy it…ssshhh!), being outdoorsy, reading, eating (of course!) and watching TV. I also love mall crawling and spending time with family and special friends in my life.

I would absolutely love to hear from you, what are your everyday style challenges?! Connect with me on Instagram, FacebookTwitter or Pinterest or join our newsletter!
