8 ways to wear a linen blazer

Nothing says chic like a linen blazer. One of the great things about it, is that it works well for work and play.

I’ve put together some outfits to get you inspired! Most of the items I used to create these looks can easily be found in any woman’s closet.

The blazer of the moment is this beautiful linen blazer from the David Jones clothing label. Blazer’s can be tricky to buy so remember what to look for when you’re looking to find the perfect fit!

My fool proof blazer look usually includes the perfect white tee and a pair of great jeans! But there’s a few more options that I think you’ll love.

LINEN BLAZER AND SHORTS

For a smart casual look, perfect for a brunch or or casual lunch, pair your linen blazer with a great white tee, denim bermuda shorts and pointed espadrilles.

Yes, you can totally do shorts to the office! How? With a classic white shirt and killer heels. Make sure the shorts you choose is formal, like these cotton shorts. A pair of snakeskin and tan sandals complete the look.

LINEN BLAZER AND A DRESS

A casual striped dress with a linen blazer is a definite “do”. The dress looks great without the blazer as well. Aren’t these pointed espadrilles fab? They go with just about anything!

Go from casual to office ready in this printed shift dress and sandals. Make sure that even without the blazer the dress is formal enough to wear on it’s own too. You don’t want to be stuck wearing your blazer if you get too hot.

An important thing to note – If the length of a blazer is below your hip bone, it is worn best with a fitted dress. Flare or A-line dresses should only be paired with a blazer that lies on or above your hip bone.

LINEN BLAZER AND A SKIRT

A linen blazer with a white tee and midi skirt is great for a first date or an afternoon with your girls.

When it’s back to work, all you need is a pencil skirt and heels to make this outfit office ready.

An important thing to note – If the length of the blazer is below your hip bone, it is worn best with a skirts that hang close to the body i.e. pencil skirts, straight skirts etc. Flare or A-line skirts should only be paired with a blazer that lies on or above your hip bone.

LINEN BLAZER AND TROUSERS

Pair a linen blazer with jeans. We can never forget jeans am I right?! A white tee and casual espadrilles makes this look casual chic. Wear with smart dark jeans to a networking event or wear with funky jeans for a coffee or movie date.

Last, but most certainly not least *drum roll* linen trousers! I present to you, the classic, the timeless…linen suit! All it needs is a crisp white shirt and heels with personality for a winning look.

The great thing about all the items I paired together is that they are classic and can easily be worn with everything in your wardrobe.

Here is a collage of all the items I used to put together the looks above. If you’re looking for new and versatile items to add to your wardrobe for Summer – here they are all in one place. Use this collage as a checklist to see what you already own or use it as a shopping list to repeat these looks.

Make these outfits your own and spruce it up with your personal style by accessorising. Remember to try different accessories with the same outfit as accessories have the ability to change the same clothing combinations into very different looks!

Until next time, stay stylish.
