5 Winter essentials to style your wardrobe

It’s getting colder…is your wardrobe prepared for Winter? If it’s not, I have good news…you don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe to gear up for the cold. All you need are 5 winter essentials to warm up the clothing you wear all year around!

Coming from warmer weather, the most popular items in a women’s wardrobe are – a summer dress, a shift dress, a summer skirt and a pair of shorts. All you need is a bit of layering 101 and 5 Winter essentials to wear these items:

  • Wool leggings
  • Boots (ankle/knee high)
  • Coat
  • Wool scarf/wrap.
  • Turtleneck

Here’s how to use the 5 essentials to style your wardrobe for Winter.

Summer dress

Pair a summer dress with a coat, wool leggings and ankle boots. If you’d like extra warmth, wear a chunky scarf around your neck! I love how the femininity of the dress adds a bit of colour on a cloudy day.

Shift dress

I love shift dresses, especially for the office. To warm it up, wear a turtleneck underneath the shift dress, wool leggings,  coat and a classic pair of ankle boots or knee high boots.

Summer skirt

Pair with leggings, a turtleneck and classic ankle boots or knee high’s. Add a red scarf for colour and a coat for a cosy look.

If you do opt for a coat with a flare skirt, make sure its the same length or longer than the skirt or it may look a bit dowdy. If you’re doing a pencil skirt, any coat length will do.

Shorts

You guessed it, add leggings! Wear it underneath your shorts with ankle boots, turtleneck and wrap. Add a belt to complete the look.

You can prepare for any season by changing up your shoes, accessories and adding a few essentials! Hats and gloves are also a great way to add personality to your Winter wardrobe.
