You’ve just got back from running errands or your afternoon picnic and only have 30 minutes (or less) before you have to bolt out the door to your dinner date! I’m sure we all know what that feels like…
I’m usually wearing casual items on those rushed days and need a quick game plan! So I head for 3 items, black blazer, black pointy heels and lipstick to dress up my look without having to dig around in my wardobe for something different.
A great quality black blazer, pointy heels and lip stick instantly dress up almost any outfit! As a side note, beautifully applied lipstick is really all the makeup you need, especially if it’s a bold colour. If you have a few extra seconds, spend it well and add some blush and mascara.
Tee and leggings
I love long tees, leggings and funky sneakers for running errands. They are so comfortable and quite chic with a cropped leather jacket and great shades. I actually bought this long tee from Cotton On…in the men’s section! I also wear it with shorts and a fedora.
To dress it up I paired it with not only a black blazer and heels, but also a clutch. A clutch elevates the look. Otherwise, a tote or shoulder bag would be perfect too, depending on the occasion.

White Ma’ashuma shirt dress
Introducing one of the shirt dresses from my label Ma’ashuma! It will be available on my online store soon, so keep an eye out! It’s great for brunches, lunches or a day at the beach. With a black blazer and pointy heels it’s perfect for dinners out too.
Don’t like it as a dress? You can easily wear it with leggings, skinny jeans or tucked into a skirt.

Tee and soft cotton pants
I love lounging around in soft cotton clothing, like this basic black tee and pants. With a black blazer and heels you could head straight to the office. Have any pants like these from your summer holiday? Dust it off and wear it to work!

A black blazer, a good pair of heels and lipstick are my standard go to items for dressing up my casual looks. Can you believe it’s that simple?
If you’re not a blazer person, try a shawl, trench coat, smart waterfall cardigans and bold jewelry. I’m hoping this post will change your outlook on ‘casual clothes’. You could practically dress up any outfit in your wardrobe!
If you’re a blazer person, play around with it in different colours too, it doesn’t have to be black. A white blazer is just as chic all year round.

Until next week, stay stylish!

You have just proven that buying basic simple items adds life to a wardrobe.
Love that you are wearing the same clutch and shoes in all the looks.
Love the longer tshirts and the shirt dress – when are you launching your label?
