Wearing colour can be quite daunting, but using a few pops of colour will add new life to items you already own! Here are five subtle ways to add colour to your wardrobe.
Makeup
One Brighten your pout with colorful shades. I recently bought coral lipstick and it looks amazing with a white shirt. The great thing about bright lips is that you only need mascara and a little blush to complete your makeup. To keep your bright lips in check, fill your lips with lip liner and brush a little face powder around your lip line before applying any lipstick. Lip liner makes the colour last and powder prevents the colour from smudging outside your lip line.
Two Bright nails make me smile, but it needs to be well kept. Make sure to put on a clear coat every two to three days just to keep the colour from chipping. If it’s unnoticeably chipped try add a coat of the same or different colour to rejuvenate it. If it’s chipped beyond saving, it’s best to remove or redo it.
It’s in the detail
Three Scarves are a beautiful way to add colour and it’s fool proof. Wear it around your neck or as a headscarf, use it as a belt or tie it to your bag. Either way it’s a timeless accessory and gives your outfit an instant boost of pop. If you’re using a scarf as an accessory, make sure that it’s not too thick, unless it’s a shawl or winter scarf that you wear around your neck or your shoulders.
Four Bags are the easiest way to incorporate some colour into your wardrobe. It’s the perfect baby step. Picture an all black outfit, a killer one of course *wink* and a bag in your favorite colour. Boom! Fashion perfection!
Put your best foot forward
Five Shoes are killer way to make a statement especially with colour. It’s not “in your face” but it dramatically adds interest. The most flattering shoes are low vamp and shoes without ankle straps. The more skin your shoes shows off, the longer your legs look. Now who wouldn’t want that!
Enjoy your colour adventure!
